However, this didn’t stop Cloudpunk from gaining a following, especially from those interested in Blade Runner-style mysteries and worlds. Back in May 2021, Ion Lands announced a new DLC for Cloudpunk alongside a new spin-off title called Nivalis. It may sound familiar to Cloudpunk players as it is the city players travel through in the adventure title. Rather than an adventure game, Nivalis offers players a rich, meaningful environment where they can build up their own business from scratch.

Nivalis is a life simulation game, giving players a chance to explore the newly refurbished city without forcing them to take on the role of a delivery driver. The reveal trailer for Nivalis opens with an establishing shot of the city, which gives off serious Cyberpunk 2077 vibes, before informing the player of their role as a small business owner. It seems that the player will initially begin their life in Nivalis as the owner of a small restaurant or bar, as a lot of the early game seems to revolve around building customer relations and the reputation of a player’s business.

Interestingly, the day, night, and weather cycles will all have roles to play in Nivalis. As most of the seating for the player’s establishment initially appears to be outside, when the weather is bad customers won’t turn up, and the player can do other tasks like growing vegetables in a futuristic-looking greenhouse. As well as working on their business, Nivalis players can also customize their apartments, similar to V’s residence in Cyberpunk 2077, but with more changes to be made.

From going fishing to making friends, there are plenty of things to do in the Blade Runner-inspired city of Nivalis. The entire city can reportedly be explored either on foot or in one of the HOVA flying vehicles from Cloudpunk. For a different Blade Runner or cyberpunk experience, gamers can look to the Blade Runner roleplaying game, which was funded in 3 minutes on Kickstarter last month.

Nivalis is currently in development.
