The Chanticleers have been a perennial FCS playoff team, winning the Big South seven times since 2004. Coastal Carolina won a league title outright in 2004 and 2006 and co-championships in 2005, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
The school’s baseball and men’s basketball programs are also solid; the baseball program hosted NCAA regional games in 2007, 2008 and 2010. The basketball team was in the NCAA Tournament last year, losing to eventual national runner-up Wisconsin in the first round.
CCU is perhaps best known for its elite golf program, boasting PGA golfers Tom Gillis and Dustin Johnson among its alumni.
