Update 1.1.0 was first announced at last week’s Nintendo Direct, and promised a fix for the issue which has annoyed players since the release of Code Name S.T.E.A.M. last month. As it turns out, the slow enemy turn issue was a result of low processing power. So while older consoles like the Nintendo 2DS, 3DS, or 3DS XL can only speed up enemy turns by 2x, newer ones like the new 3DS or New 3DS XL will offer 3x the normal speed. This seems a bit unfair, especially to players who own one of the older consoles. It however beats having to wait for enemy turns.
This seems to be the only feature added with Update 1.1.0. You can check out the full patch notes below:
A new software update is now available for the Code Name S.T.E.A.M. game. This update adds a fast-forward button to speed up alien movement on the enemy turn.
When playing on a Nintendo 2DS, Nintendo 3DS, or Nintendo 3DS XL system, the fast-forward function roughly doubles the speed of the enemy turn.
When playing on a New Nintendo 3DS XL system, the fast-forward function roughly triples the speed of the enemy turn.
Code Name: S.T.E.A.M is available now for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will also feature Amiibo support, specifically the Marth Amiibo which is set to re-launch this April.
