The Norman City Council previously upheld a mask ordinance that required people to wear a face covering in all public settings “wherein social or physical distancing cannot be maintained,” with some exceptions including eating at a bar or restaurant. The amendment will expand these public settings to include social gatherings of 25 people or more people on public or private properties. Norman Mayor Breea Clark’s decision to redefine public spaces in the ordinance comes after videos surfaced on social media of off-campus gatherings at the University of Oklahoma—located in Norman—during the school’s first home football game....

There have been calls for the panel investigating the Capitol riot to subpoena Ginni Thomas after she frequently spoke of her desire to overturn the 2020 election results from Joe Biden to Donald Trump, especially because she is married to a Supreme Court justice who could have influence over election-related decisions by the court. Following revelations about his wife’s communications with Mark Meadows, Trump lawyer John Eastman, and several Arizona lawmakers about overturning the 2020 Election results, Clarence Thomas was criticized for being the sole dissenting vote when the Supreme Court rejected Trump’s attempt to block the release of some presidential documents to the January 6 panel....

The research from Stanford Law professor John Donohue and student Theodora Boulouta found that from 1994 to 2004, the Clinton-era federal assault weapons ban was associated with a marked decrease in mass shootings and victims of those shootings. According to a preliminary draft of the study, set to be published in the journal Law and Contemporary Problems, in the decade preceding the assault weapons ban, there were 33 percent additional mass shootings and 65 percent more associated fatalities....

There’s precedent for this idea. I hope that Clubhouse can show the big social media platforms—which Clubhouse itself is on the way to become—what we really want from social media. Punk wrestled Heyman’s client and Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel in a match this week on RAW. As the match went back and forth, Punk decided to attack Heyman taking matters into his own hands.
